Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Euro Masters in Poland this weekend.
It's health-related, so not much can be done about it. No work, no travel. Doctor's orders. Which is also why blog posts have slowed down somewhat of late (also because I've less stuff to cover ATM, so there is that too). But don't worry, I'll be back.
It's extra annoying because I was going to reuse my Stirling list—the one with the Liberty—and I was looking forward to seeing how well it would match up against all the competitive lists out there. I think it could have done OK if I had played it well. But probably not super well: even with good play and luck, there are just way too many matchups where you can't really score well enough to get those big wins. You can avoid losing/win small, but those 9s and 10s are going to be rare.
Also, everything is prepaid—from the plane to the hotel to the event—so that's a bit of a waste 👀 But OK, if we apply a bit of girl/gamer math, it's not so bad. I was not going to spend that money on anything particularly useful anyway, and it was all prepaid months ago, so it doesn't cost anything (now) 😅
Anyway. There will be more opportunities for tournaments in the future. In the online space, the Vassal World Cup is coming up, and I'll definitely join that. Locally, it looks like we're finally getting a campaign going: Rebels vs. Imps, starting at 400 points with a Corellian Conflict-inspired set of rules.
So stay tuned!
