Hello there!

Welcome to I have You Now (IHYN), a blog about Star Wars: Armada and the current home of all things related to VASSAL Armada and the Armada Warlords fleet builder.

IHYN is the work of the intrepid and devilishly cunning Norwegian gamer Green Knight (GK for short). It's essentially a one-man show where I share my thoughts and feelings with fellow players.

The tone of IHYN intended to be lighthearted. Always keep that in mind when you read. That way you won't confuse me sharing my personal opinions with me trying to convince you of anything. Quite the contrary. I expect you to take what you read and look at it with a critical eye.

The format of my posts is very "stream of consciousness." So do not expect very intricate and dramatically (pun intended) correct passages. I use simple words and allow myself great freedom when it comes to punctuation. If you're a grammer (also pun intended) Nazi you can get your kicks elsewhere. That said I want what I write to be accessible. So if you struggle to catch my meaning because of poor punctuation I've gone too far 😅

The blog is primarily aimed at players who already know their way around Armada. I don't mean it's only for the experts and the grognards but I make no attempt to explain the basics. If you need the basics explained I can honestly recommend the excellent Cannot Get Your Ship Out blog.

I've loved Armada since I tried the introduction scenario in the Core box. We got most of the rules wrong. We didn't realize squadrons couldn't activate more than once per round for example 😂 I couldn't kill the VSD and the VSD couldn't catch me. The only casualties were TIEs and X-wings. It was a great experience and I immediately ordered a Core set, then another core set.

Fast forward to 2021 and I'm still here and playing. I was very active from 2016-2018 after which I grew tired of the same stale meta and played a lot less. 2020 was the year I returned. The 1.5 changes certainly helped (but I honestly consider it too little and a bit late) but it's the Clone Wars factions that really excite me.

When not playing Armada GK plays a lot of other stuff. He loves RPGs above all (PnP RPGs not the computer ones). The only miniatures game he's currently involved in is X-wing 2.0. He's dabbled in the dark world of GW in the past but broke away. He also has a crapton of Battletech minis on the shelf but doesn't play BT as a tabletop game.
